About The Position

Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise is seeking an Emergency Department Technician to join its fast-paced Emergency Department. The role supports clinical staff at the unit level by performing Certified Nursing Assistant functions under RN supervision, collecting blood samples, identifying patients, and transporting specimens. Additional duties include related clerical, receptionist, and patient service coordination work. ED Techs provide care to patients presenting with a wide range of conditions and illnesses. The schedule is three 12-hour night shifts per week, from 7:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m. The position requires availability for a flexible schedule that may include weekdays, weekends, and holidays. The team values self-direction, teamwork, a desire to learn, and dedication to providing excellent emergency care in a trauma setting.

Requirements

Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in Idaho, and/or certification as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) or Paramedic by the State of Idaho and/or the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT).
Basic Life Support certification for Healthcare Providers from AHA, ARC, or the Military Training Network at hire in all units, unless currently certified in ACLS and/or PALS as defined in the SAHS Certification Crosswalk.

Nice To Haves

Six months of CNA or EMT experience.
Recent experience working with pediatric patients and/or performing phlebotomy in an acute care setting.
High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities
