Responsible for rendering technical patient care and assistance to assigned patients under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. Treatment rooms and the storeroom are appropriately stocked with supplies to ensure prompt patient treatment. Comprehensive Emergency Services:
UVA Health’s Emergency Department is a 75-bed Level 1 Trauma Center and Comprehensive Stroke Center. As a regional referral center, the UVA ED sees patients from throughout Virginia, as well as from West Virginia and Tennessee. This department cares for complex patients throughout the age spectrum.
Treatment for burns, broken bones, acute illnesses, and pain unresponsive to over-the-counter medicine.

Requirements

• High School Graduate or Equivalent
• No experience required
• State Certified as one of the following: EMT-B EMT-C EMT-ST or EMT-P.
• American Heart Association (AHA) Health Care Provider BLS certification required.
• Background checks and pre-employment health screenings will be conducted on all new hires prior to employment.
• All safety-sensitive positions with direct patient interaction also require a drug screen.
