This position is for an Emergency Department Registered Nurse who will be responsible and accountable for delivering patient care as part of a multidisciplinary team, utilizing the nursing process and maintaining professional nursing standards. Key duties include assessing and evaluating patients' physical, psychosocial, environmental, spiritual, social, and educational needs, and documenting their responses to nursing interventions. The RN will develop, implement, and update patient care plans, including discharge plans, based on nursing practice standards and health center policies, using clinical and critical thinking skills. The role also involves guiding and directing patient care activities, providing daily direction to Licensed Practical Nurses and Nurse Assistants, and facilitating patient and family education by assessing learning needs and initiating teaching plans. Effective communication of patient changes to colleagues and multidisciplinary caregivers is essential. The nurse is also expected to attend departmental meetings, manage hospital resources efficiently, meet productivity expectations, and be flexible to support staffing needs across multiple units.
