About The Position

We are seeking a dedicated Emergency Department Physician to join our team at a rural, community-focused hospital serving a population of approximately 19,000. The Emergency Department has 10 beds with an average volume of ~30 patients per 24 hours. It operates with single-provider coverage per shift and 24/7 RN staffing, offering a broad scope of practice with strong nursing support. The hospital is a 71-bed rural facility with an inpatient behavioral health unit (ages 18+) and on-site obstetric services. The nearest tertiary care center is over 60 miles away. This is an ideal setting for physicians who value autonomy, variety, and meaningful community impact. Clinical support includes on-call specialty coverage (not 24/7) in Orthopedics and General Surgery, as well as advanced imaging. There is no in-house cardiology or pulmonology, but strong transfer relationships are in place for higher levels of care.

Requirements

• MD or DO, eligible for medical licensure
• ACLS, PALS, and ATLS required
• Comfort practicing independently in a rural emergency setting

Nice To Haves

• Board certification in Emergency Medicine encouraged
