UPMC Corporate Services is hiring a casual Emergency Department Patient Services Representative to support UPMC Horizon Shenango Valley and Horizon Greenville. A casual employee has no set shift or number of hours, but is scheduled to work as needed. This role would work 12-hour shifts (typically 7:00am-7:30pm, 9:00am-9:30pm, or 7:00pm-7:00am) on varying days, weekends, and holidays. The employee would be required to provide availability for a minimum of 1 shift per week and 1 weekend day per month, and the department will schedule them based off their availability and the department needs. There is potential to work up to 40 hours per week depending on staffing needs. An Emergency Department Patient Services Representative is responsible for welcoming patients upon arrival and promoting the usage of new and emerging consumer-friendly technologies. They also educate patients on their copayments and financial obligations, collect payments when applicable, and connect patients to financial advocacy resources when appropriate. Additionally, this role updates patient's demographics and insurance coverage information, all while promoting an overall culture of service excellence.
