Our skilled Emergency Department Medical Technicians are dedicated to providing rapid medical support, ensuring the highest level of patient care and safety in the most urgent and stressful situations. This is a 0.75 FTE position, meaning 60 hours per two-week pay period, with a combination of 8 and 12-hour day/evening shifts and an every 3rd weekend rotation. ED Techs provide patient care within the scope of their medical certification, including phlebotomy, EKGs, wound preparation, applying splints, obtaining specimens, and educating/fitting durable medical equipment. They also assist RNs with patient care tasks such as wound dressings, oxygen application, assisting with procedures, irrigations, restraining applications, pressure dressings, transferring fall-risk patients, and applying/removing backboards and c-collars. Participation in quality improvement activities is also a key aspect of the role.
