About The Position

Seeking a Charge Nurse for the Emergency Department at Baptist Health Floyd. This is a Full-Time (36 hours/week), Nights (7P-7A) position that is benefit eligible. The role involves acting as a resource nurse, providing leadership to staff, coordinating care on designated shifts, and determining staffing needs. The Charge Nurse will also provide direct patient care, respond to departmental concerns, address staff issues, and coordinate patient flow. This position has immediate oversight of employees while performing the same or directly related work as those the position leads. The Emergency Department is a fast-paced environment treating an average of 160+ patients per day, with a wide variety of cases including cardiovascular, neurovascular, general medical, traumatic injuries, and psychiatric patients. The ED is recognized as a STEMI receiving center and a Primary Stroke Center. New Graduate RNs are welcome.

Requirements

  • Current Indiana or compact state RN license, or graduate of approved nursing program
  • BLS for healthcare provider required.
  • One year of nursing experience required.

Nice To Haves

  • ACLS certification required (obtained within 12 months of hire).
  • PALS certification required (obtained within 12 months of hire).
  • NIHSS certification required (obtained within 10 weeks of hire).
  • One year of experience in area of specialty preferred.

Responsibilities
