The City of Katy Emergency Communications Center is the nerve center of public safety operations for our community. As an Emergency Communications Specialist, you are the link between a citizen in crisis and the help that saves them. You will handle 9-1-1 and non-emergency calls across Police, Fire, and Medical channels, dispatch personnel using computer-aided dispatch systems, maintain critical data records in local, state, and national systems, and serve as an essential resource after hours for animal control, public works, and parks. This position is designated Critical Personnel. During disasters or catastrophic events, you may be required to remain on duty and perform duties beyond your normal scope to protect the continuity of City operations.
