Aurora911 is staffed by public safety professionals trained to handle 9-1-1 and non-emergency calls, and dispatch police, fire, paramedic, and alternative response resources. They process over 600,000 calls annually, ensuring the safety of residents, businesses, and visitors. The Emergency Communications Specialist I (ECS-1) is an entry-level position within the Aurora911 Communications Center. This role requires successful completion of the Aurora911 Basic Training Program and an introductory period. ECS-1s will independently receive and process 911 emergency and non-emergency calls for Police, Fire, and Ambulance services, operating multi-line telephone and computer systems to expedite information. This is a life safety-sensitive position that handles confidential information and requires willingness to work a 24-hour environment, including shifts, weekends, holidays, overtime, and on-call duties.
