Community Care Veterinary Specialists, in beautiful Gainesville, Florida, is a privately owned small animal specialty hospital in North Central Florida. Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years experience in Veterinary Medicine.
• Knowledge of animal handling and nursing.
• Basic knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
• Excellent communicators and multi-taskers.
• Able to work independently, and function as a part of a team.
• Detail oriented.
• Able to provide exceptional patient care combined with professional client communication.
• Must be able to lift 40lbs.

Nice To Haves

• Basic knowledge of emergency medicine is preferred but not required.
• CVT preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Navigate interpersonal, digital, and oral correspondence with pet owners and referring veterinarians.
• Coach and mentor lesser experienced colleagues.
• Administer medications, perform treatments per DVM instruction and accurately document necessary medical information.
• Respond quickly and calmly to crises while maintaining a high standard of client and patient care.
• Effectively and clearly communicate with DVMs, the needs of patients and owners in high stress situations.
• Small animal restraint and handling.
• Basic and advanced nursing care.
• Mastered venipuncture and IV catheterization.
• Ability to calculate and administer medications.
• Lab sample handling and running in-house lab equipment.
• Basic sedation and anesthesia monitoring.
• General knowledge of veterinary medicine, including basic knowledge of emergency medicine and procedures.
• Participate in weekend and holiday rotations.
