Emergency and Continuity Management Specialist

Requirements
- A Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Emergency Management, Business Continuity or a related field, and a minimum of three to five years of directly related work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Comprehensive knowledge and experience in emergency and continuity management, stakeholder engagement, communication, and project management.
- Knowledge of emergency management standards and best practices (for example, CSAZ1600, ISO22301, BCEMS, ICS, etc.).
- Feel energized and thrive in fast-paced environments; think on your feet and are always ready to pivot.
- Like to think outside the box, are a master problem solver and continually bring new ideas.
- Sweat the details that others might think are inconsequential.
- Are a skillful communicator and have impeccable business writing skills, with the ability to adjust your tone depending on the context.
- Embrace feedback, both positive and constructive, as fuel for improvement.
Nice To Haves
- Knowledge of industry regulations (for example, Transport Canada, Environment Canada, NEB, AER, BCER, IMDG, etc.).
- Knowledge of and/or education in climate sciences / climate adaptation.
- Experience mentoring emerging professionals.
Responsibilities
- Lead the development, implementation, and maintenance of comprehensive and customized emergency management and business continuity programs.
- Provide CCEM’s public and private sector clients with expert guidance on emergency preparedness and business continuity regulations, industry standards and best practices.
- Assess our clients’ existing emergency management and business continuity programs.
- Conduct gap analyses against industry standards and regulations.
- Develop and conduct training, and facilitate operational and functional exercises.
- Drive continuous improvement for clients through progress tracking and learnings.
- Proactively identify and resolve potential hiccups to ensure project success.
- Work collaboratively and mentor other team members, sharing knowledge, and leading by example.
- Travel as needed to client sites and to participate in engagement workshops, training and exercises (up to 10% depending on business needs).
- Uphold CCEM’s established level of excellence in every deliverable.
