About The Position

Converge, a subsidiary of Arrow Electronics, is a global supply chain partner with over 35 years of experience in electronics components distribution. They provide data-driven supply chain solutions for customers facing challenges with shortage, inventory, or supply chain management. The EMEA ARS Manager (Asset Recovery Service) will be responsible for developing the supply chain by engaging and growing relationships with OEM and EMS customers to enable reciprocal trading. This role is part of a redeveloped ARS function under a new Global strategy and requires smart, hungry, and driven individuals. The position offers an excellent opportunity in independent distribution with potential for management responsibility.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years purchasing experience in the electronics industry.
  • Understanding of electronics industry developments and market cycles.
  • Ability to define, develop, nurture, and maintain internal and external relationships.
  • Strong experience in team management.
  • Fluent in English and German or Dutch.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Loyal and proactive team player with excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Willingness to perform business travel (pending restrictions).

Responsibilities

  • Prospect for new accounts and map out developed and assigned account base to pull in or create new product availabilities and make proactive offers.
  • Lead a team as team manager.
  • Create supply and sales opportunities by utilizing the X-Trade system.
  • Negotiate with customers to close purchase orders and overcome objections while maintaining appropriate business margins.
  • Make prompt business decisions about whether to buy particular assets in any particular situation.
  • Identify and create innovative purchasing opportunities.
  • Execute and understand the purchase order process.
  • Maintain and adhere to appropriate purchasing metrics and business requirements set forth by Management, including daily phone time, new prospect development, and maintaining/enhancing customer relationships.
  • Learn, understand, and remain current on market conditions, including customer/vendor base and their availabilities and requirements, pricing, and competitive alternatives.
  • Develop and implement strategic purchase programs at key accounts.
  • Understand and ensure adherence to Converge credit requirements.
  • Consistently maintain and accurately update the information database.
  • Work jointly with internal and external stakeholders to maximize buy-side and sell-side trading opportunities.
  • Develop new and unique customers and accounts.
  • Perform the majority of the above duties under minimal supervision.
