Emc Test Technician

Rivian and Volkswagen Group TechnologiesIrvine, CA

About The Position

Rivian and Volkswagen Group Technologies is a joint venture between two industry leaders with a clear vision for automotive’s next chapter. From operating systems to zonal controllers to cloud and connectivity solutions, we’re addressing the challenges of electric vehicles through technology that will set the standards for software-defined vehicles around the world. The road to the future is uncharted. By combining our expertise across connectivity, AI, security and more, we’ll map a new way forward. Working together, we’ll create a future that’s more connected, more intelligent, more sustainable for everyone. Role Summary We are seeking a seasoned, hands-on EMC Test Technician to join our EMC team supporting component and module-level EMC/EMI Control validation for automotive electronic systems. This role is foundational to our product quality pipeline — ensuring automotive ECUs meet OEM-specific EMC requirements prior to vehicle integration. The ideal candidate brings 3-7 years of direct, bench-level EMC testing experience in the automotive sector — with deep, practical fluency in ISO 11452, ISO 7637, and the OEM-specific test specifications governing major vehicle manufacturers. We will consider candidates with equivalent experience from Aerospace (RTCA DO-160 ), Defense (MIL-STD-461), or consumer electronics (IEC 61000 series) environments, provided they can demonstrate substantive knowledge of automotive EMC test methodologies and a credible path to OEM standard fluency. This is a pure individual contributor, bench-level technician role . No direct reports. High ownership. Maximum hands-on impact.
