The Embryologist prepares and stocks media for In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) lab procedures and operating room procedures. This role involves preparing culture dishes for egg retrievals, insemination, embryo culture, and embryo transfer procedures. Key responsibilities include retrieving oocytes, preparing sperm, performing insemination, culturing embryos, and executing micromanipulation procedures for assisted fertilization, hatching, and biopsy. The Embryologist also loads catheters for embryo transfer, freezes and thaws supernumerary embryos, and selects and prepares embryos for transfer. Accurate patient records and data management are also essential aspects of this position.
