About The Position

We are actively hiring for the position of Embroidery Machine Operator Lead for our plant in Wallingford, CT. This role involves organizing daily work, ensuring orders ship on time, assisting with sewing issues, meeting with the supervisor daily to plan production, communicating productivity goals, maintaining machines, and training new staff. The lead will also be responsible for inspecting stitching quality, making minor machine adjustments, and performing other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 2-4 years of experience working in an embroidery department
  • Ability to stand for an extended period of time while using hands and arms
  • Ability to work safely with moving machinery
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English
  • Learn tasks quickly, be detail-oriented, accuracy-driven, personable, team-oriented, and punctual with excellence in attendance.
  • Candidates are required to see and differentiate colors for accuracy in inspecting the product during and after being processed.
  • Ability to work overtime as needed
  • Able to apply common sense and strategic thinking in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Detail-oriented with a high standard of quality
  • Self-motivated individual with the ability to work with minimal supervision and constant direction
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to manage priorities and workflow
  • Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm

Responsibilities

  • Organize work daily by MBO date and ensure that staff are producing in that order
  • Ensure all orders ship on time
  • Help with sewing issues and encourage staff to learn and grow
  • Meet with supervisor daily and plan the day’s production/ reduce staff when needed
  • Communicate productivity goals daily and motivate staff to meet and exceed
  • Make sure that machines are maintained and cleaned regularly
  • Report parts need to be submitted monthly to the supervisor
  • Assist with quarterly inventory
  • Make minor machine adjustments to tension and knives/trimmers on an as-needed basis
  • Train new embroidery staff to follow our QC at the source guidelines
  • To ensure quality stitching by inspecting thread and bobbin tensions, especially the first run
  • Be the lead by example and make sure other embroiderers follow quality guidelines
  • Other duties as assigned by the Supervisor
