About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Embedded Systems Architect to lead the design and delivery of cloud-connected device platforms at scale. This hands-on architecture role spans embedded firmware, networking, and cloud services, with responsibility for secure device onboarding, provisioning, management, monitoring, updates, and lifecycle operations. You will define end-to-end device–cloud architectures, including secure connectivity, identity and certificate management, OTA updates, telemetry, diagnostics, and remote device control. Working across device, network, and cloud boundaries, you will ensure scalable, secure, and enterprise-ready solutions.

Requirements

  • Strong experience in embedded systems development using C/C++.
  • Hands-on experience with RTOS environments such as Zephyr, FreeRTOS, or ThreadX.
  • Proven expertise in embedded/firmware architecture design.
  • Solid understanding of TCP/IP, HTTP, MQTT, and secure device communications.
  • Experience building and integrating cloud-connected devices.
  • Ability to design systems spanning both device and cloud domains.
  • Experience delivering embedded or IoT solutions through implementation and integration phases.
  • Strong troubleshooting, leadership, and stakeholder communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with the Azure IoT ecosystem.
  • Knowledge of certificate lifecycle management, hardware-backed security, and enterprise networking.
  • Experience implementing OTA firmware updates, telemetry, logging, and remote diagnostics.
  • Familiarity with collaboration devices, enterprise hardware platforms, or HP Poly ecosystems.
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity, drive technical decisions, and deliver end-to-end outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Design and own end-to-end architectures for cloud-managed embedded devices.
  • Define firmware architectures using C/C++ and RTOS platforms (e.g., Zephyr, FreeRTOS).
  • Lead device–cloud integration using services such as Azure IoT Hub and Device Provisioning Service.
  • Architect solutions for device identity, certificate management, secure communications (TLS/mTLS), OTA updates, telemetry, diagnostics, and remote management.
  • Support implementation, troubleshooting, and risk mitigation across firmware, connectivity, and cloud layers.
  • Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and architectural guidance to engineering teams.
  • Collaborate with clients and stakeholders to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
