About The Position

Blue River Technology is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer to develop embedded software and systems for computer vision-enabled agricultural products, including a high-density compute platform for robotics. The role focuses on software applications, kernels, and device drivers; camera and sensor capabilities; Yocto operating-system support; and automated regression testing in continuous integration on hardware-in-the-loop platforms. The engineer will contribute to design and code reviews and apply embedded design practices to deliver high-performance, reliable systems, with attention to real-time programming. The position is based in Santa Clara, California, and is full-time. Visa sponsorship is available.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • 1–3 years of experience developing embedded software.
  • Familiarity with cameras, other sensors, and camera interfaces such as MIPI CSI-2.
  • Strong attention to detail and a focus on testing and continuous integration practices.
  • Knowledge of real-time systems and performance optimization techniques.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with camera and camera-interface testing, including performance testing under physical conditions such as shock/vibration, EMI, and temperature.
  • Expertise in Linux kernel device-driver development and tuning real-time applications for low latency.
  • Experience developing on ARM platforms such as NVIDIA Jetson and embedded Linux systems using Yocto and meta-tegra.
  • V4L2 camera-driver expertise.
  • Experience with NVIDIA driver development.
  • Experience building or maintaining continuous integration pipelines for embedded software.
  • Middleware experience, particularly with publish/subscribe architectures.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, enhance, and debug software applications, kernels, and device drivers for robotics computing using C/C++ and Rust in a Linux environment.
  • Enhance camera and sensor capabilities, image quality, and exposure configuration, and support training data collection operations.
  • Ensure operating-system support for sensors is implemented properly in Yocto.
  • Build automated driver and camera regression tests that run in continuous integration on hardware-in-the-loop platforms.
  • Conduct embedded design reviews and code reviews, and provide guidance to resolve difficult driver bugs that may require extensive troubleshooting.
  • Apply embedded design best practices and methodologies to ensure high performance and reliability, with emphasis on real-time programming.

Benefits

  • Annual performance bonus.
  • Competitive benefit package.
