About The Position
As an embedded software engineer, you know how to create and maintain crucial pieces of software. You use your knowledge to write and optimize code that creates a bridge between pieces of software, allowing them to communicate. We’re looking for an embedded software engineer like you to develop technology for our clients’ most important mission-forward challenges. As an embedded software engineer at Booz Allen, you’ll support the development of systems and tools for our clients. Using the latest tools and technology, you’ll write, test, and edit code in support of the team’s overall results. You’ll strengthen your skills as you develop as well as configure solutions based on the platform being used. You’ll partner with team leadership to troubleshoot and correct operational issues. Requirements
- 3+ years of experience working in embedded system development
- Experience working with microcontrollers, FPGA, or custom hardware platforms
- Experience applying C, C++, hardware interfaces including SPI and UART, and debugging tools in hands-on engineering environments
- Secret clearance
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or computer science and 3+ years of experience with software engineering or 7+ years of experience with software engineering in lieu of a degree

Responsibilities
- Support the development of systems and tools for clients.
- Write, test, and edit code.
- Develop and configure solutions based on the platform being used.
- Partner with team leadership to troubleshoot and correct operational issues.
- Maintain and expand state machine designs to support system functionality.
- Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including developers, testers, engineers, and subject matter experts.
- Research emerging technologies and integrate new concepts into project needs.
- Interpret schematics, datasheets, and system requirements to guide technical decisions.
- Document engineering work products, configuration, and test results.
