This role involves analyzing customer inputs and system requirements to create a robust Software Architecture design model for all Software components responsible for Electrification. The architect will lead the design and development of electrification services based on the SDV Solution Definition. Key responsibilities include coordinating and participating in software design and code reviews, ensuring adherence to the established architecture, standards, and the SAFe framework. The role also entails developing software requirements and functional specifications, including requirements analysis, software architecture design, data structure design, and low-level software requirement development, in line with GM’s SDV vision. Additionally, the architect will develop, deploy, and maintain software modules, participate in the design of a best-in-class in-vehicle Abstracted Mechatronic Platform for GM's new electronic architectures, and code, unit test, debug, and modify complex embedded systems software to meet project objectives and schedules within the SAFe framework. Collaboration with a team of skilled engineering professionals to solve cross-functional design issues, foster continuous learning, and ensure compliance with ISO26262 and Automotive SPICE based Engineering Process Model are crucial. The role requires communicating findings to ensure alignment, migrating to new vehicle platforms, embedding a culture of built-in-quality through BDD and TDD, harmonizing development efforts, driving efficiencies in tools and processes, and focusing on continuous improvement of designs. The position also involves pursuing the reduction of technical debt and defect resolution. This is a hybrid role requiring 3 days in-office and 2 days remote, with the ability to report to the local office.
