About Our Co-op: iRhythm is currently seeking a motivated Embedded SDET Intern to join our San Francisco, California based team for 6 months from July 2026 through December 2026. Requirements

  • Pursuing a degree or advanced degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or equivalent
  • Detail-oriented with excellent troubleshooting and critical thinking skills
  • Proficient in Python and familiarity with coding standards (PEP 8)
  • Understanding of OOA/OOD/OOP/OOT
  • Familiarity with software debugging is beneficial
  • Familiarity with version control systems (git) and release methodologies
  • Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively in a cross-functional environment
  • Care just as much about doing things right as getting things done
  • Have a passion for software automation

  • You appreciate producing quality software and understand the value of requirements-based testing.
  • You have a desire to gain a deep, practical understanding of how devices work and how they fail.
  • You have strong debugging skills that help you systematically troubleshoot unfamiliar issues across hardware and software boundaries.
  • You enjoy writing impactful software to automate repetitive tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Working inside of our test framework to implement automated workflows
  • Integrating internal tools from other teams within our test framework
  • Learning system level knowledge of how our firmware (embedded software) performs
  • Gaining familiarity with requirements, test cases and manual test methods
  • Improving your programming skill through code review and test development tasks
  • Working with other engineers to understand and correct bugs
  • Learning about medical device software development lifecycles
