About The Position
This co-op position is an opportunity to work in the research and development team of a photonics & fiber optics company that is passionate about meeting the needs of our customers. The role involves contributing to the ongoing development of automated solutions for next-generation optical transport products, solving complex technical problems, working in close collaboration with Firmware R&D teams, and improving the quality and robustness of firmware and hardware tests.
Requirements
- 3rd or 4th year student pursuing a degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent
- Currently enrolled in a recognized Canadian post-secondary Institution
- Desire to succeed and to do things right the first time
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong object-oriented software design and implementation (any language)
- Experience in instrumentation and automation
- Understanding of optical systems
- Experience with optical instruments and optical fibers
- Eligible to complete a background check as part of the hiring process

- Experience with any or all of the following: Git, GitHub, Bash, PowerShell, ChatGPT, Copilot, C#, Python, Javascript, XML, gRPC, Jira
