About The Position

The Embedded QA Engineer will help deliver a camera solution for iOS products by qualifying ISP firmware and camera drivers across hardware platforms. The role covers new hardware bring-up, feature enablement, and continuous regression testing for ISP code changes. The engineer will identify regressions, validate camera and ISP features on new sensors, and help ensure camera functionality, performance, power, stability, and image quality meet expectations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree.
  • At least 3 years of relevant industry experience.
  • At least 3 years of QA experience testing embedded system products.
  • Proficiency in Python or a similar scripting language.
  • Experience developing system- and feature-level test plans and test cases.
  • Experience developing automated tests for embedded systems or mobile devices.
  • Hands-on experience using AI-based tools to build and automate workflows.

Nice To Haves

  • Understanding of camera technologies, the ISP pipeline, 3A, video formats, and color space.
  • Experience with quality test gating in a large, multi-repository embedded codebase.
  • Experience designing, developing, or maintaining test suites using Pytest or another framework.
  • Experience setting up, integrating, or maintaining continuous integration and deployment pipelines using tools such as Jenkins.
  • Comfort working across multiple concurrent trains and hardware platforms.
  • Strong verbal and interpersonal skills, especially when triaging with development teams.
  • Experience on successful, large-volume consumer products.

Responsibilities

  • Own regression testing for ISP code changes across multiple projects and active trains; discover regressions, triage failures, and catch issues before they reach the main codebase.
  • Drive parity feature validation on new hardware platforms by re-validating existing camera and ISP features against new sensors.
  • Design test plans and test cases for new camera and ISP features, covering functionality, performance, power, stability, and image quality.
  • Validate features end-to-end as they are enabled, in parallel with development.
  • Build and maintain automated tests as hardware platforms and feature counts grow.
  • Collaborate with development and cross-functional QA teams to triage, diagnose, and debug issues to root cause, and file high-quality, reproducible radars.
  • Identify coverage gaps and flag risks and trends to leadership.
