Embedded Firmware Engineering Intern - Summer 2027

Resideo•Melville, NY
•$25 - $42•Hybrid

About The Position

Resideo’s Security business develops security, fire, and connected-home products. The Embedded Firmware Engineering Intern will work alongside experienced firmware engineers on touchscreen interfaces for embedded products. The internship involves developing and modernizing interfaces for embedded Linux devices, and exploring opportunities to extend graphical interface technology to future microcontroller-based products running real-time operating systems (RTOS). It offers hands-on experience with embedded software development, cross-platform GUI technologies, and products intended for production. The intern will help recreate existing interfaces using a modern embedded graphics framework, develop reusable touchscreen components, and build tools to automate parts of the GUI migration process. The role also includes integrating and testing interfaces on embedded Linux devices, investigating cross-platform reuse between Linux and RTOS environments, optimizing software for resource-constrained devices, and documenting implementation details and test results. The intern will collaborate with firmware engineers on reusable software components and consistent GUI development across hardware platforms.
