About The Position

The Missile Compartment Project Engineering Team is seeking an Embedded Engineer to support construction efforts on the COLUMBIA Program. The position works alongside the Operations General Foreman and trade supervision to plan, prepare, and execute planned and emergent work on the deckplates. Embedded Engineers are co-located with Operations to identify obstacles, support real-time decisions, and develop solutions that help keep production on schedule. The role regularly interfaces with trades including Pipefitters, Steel Trades, Electricians, Pipe Welders, Sheet Metal Fabricators, and Machinists. Work areas include the Reactor Compartment, Engine Room, and exterior hull. The position supports module construction and test and major construction milestones, requiring independent critical thinking, effective collaboration, strong communication, and a positive questioning attitude. The engineer provides deckplate support during typical operations shift times. Extended hours or occasional weekends may be needed to maintain progress toward key construction milestones.
