About The Position

Quest Global is seeking an Embedded Display Software Engineer to lead the low-level software bring-up of next-generation Augmented Reality (AR) platforms running Android XR on Qualcomm Snapdragon architecture. This role involves architecting, developing, and maintaining Linux/Android kernel-space drivers, with a primary focus on display enablement using the DRM/KMS framework. The engineer will configure, integrate, and optimize the Android display stack, including SurfaceFlinger and Hardware Composer, to meet stringent AR latency, responsiveness, and frame-rate requirements. Responsibilities also include implementing, tuning, and validating high-speed interfaces, collaborating with cross-functional teams, diagnosing and troubleshooting system issues, driving performance optimization, supporting board bring-up and validation, and utilizing advanced lab equipment. The role contributes to innovative AR solutions by enabling cutting-edge display technologies and high-performance wearable computing platforms.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Embedded Systems, or a related field.
  • Hands-on experience with Qualcomm Snapdragon processors, preferably within wearable, AR, XR, or spatial computing platforms such as AR1 or XR2 series chipsets.
  • Strong expertise in Linux and Android kernel development, including device drivers, kernel debugging, and platform enablement.
  • Proven experience developing display drivers using DRM/KMS and working with Android graphics components such as SurfaceFlinger and Hardware Composer.
  • Deep understanding of MIPI DSI and QSPI interfaces, including timing configuration, register-level programming, and protocol debugging.
  • Advanced programming skills in C and C++ for embedded and system-level software development.
  • Strong debugging and troubleshooting capabilities across hardware and software domains.
  • Experience using hardware diagnostic tools such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, MIPI protocol analyzers, and other embedded development equipment.
  • Solid understanding of embedded system architecture, boot flows, memory management, power management, and performance optimization.
