About The Position

Ekco is seeking an experienced Email Security Architect to lead the design, assessment, and implementation of enterprise email security solutions across complex hybrid messaging environments. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in email security architecture, hands-on experience with Microsoft Exchange (both on-premises and cloud), and a strong understanding of leading email threat protection platforms. This role will be responsible for evaluating current-state environments, designing target state architectures, and guiding the implementation of security controls that protect against phishing, malware, business email compromise (BEC), data loss, and advanced email-borne threats.

Requirements

8+ years of experience in cybersecurity, messaging, or infrastructure architecture roles.
Strong hands-on experience with hybrid Microsoft Exchange environments, including Exchange On-Premises and Exchange Online.
Demonstrated expertise designing and implementing email security architectures.
Experience conducting architecture reviews, security assessments, and solution design workshops.
Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
Deep knowledge of one or more of the following platforms: Abnormal Security, Proofpoint Email Protection, Microsoft Defender for Office 365 / Defender for Cloud Email Security.
Strong understanding of: Email authentication protocols (SPF, DKIM, DMARC), Secure Email Gateways (SEGs), Business Email Compromise (BEC) protection, Threat detection and response, Data Loss Prevention (DLP), Email encryption and compliance controls.

Responsibilities

Architect and design enterprise email security solutions for large scale and complex environments.
Assess existing email security controls and recommend improvements aligned with industry best practices.
Lead the design and integration of security technologies across hybrid Exchange environments, including: Exchange Server (On-Premises) and Exchange Online (Microsoft 365).
Develop email security strategies to mitigate phishing, ransomware, spoofing, malware, and account compromise risks.
Provide technical leadership for migration, modernization, and consolidation initiatives involving multiple email security platforms.
Collaborate with security, infrastructure, cloud, and messaging teams to ensure secure email operations.
Create architecture documentation, implementation roadmaps, security standards, and operational procedures.
Support proof of concepts (POCs), product evaluations, and solution recommendations.
