Saras Micro Devices is a venture-backed semiconductor startup developing high-performance computing (HPC), package-integrated power delivery solutions for artificial intelligence and advanced networking devices. The EM Modeling Engineer develops electromagnetic models and simulations for capacitors, inductors, embedded passive devices, package structures, and system-level PCB/package power delivery network architectures. The role supports signal and power integrity analysis, customer-specific modeling needs, characterization practices, and product development decisions.

Requirements

  • Master's degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering.
  • Experience with electromagnetic simulation.
  • Experience with HFSS, Maxwell, SIwave, and finite element analysis (FEA).
  • Experience with resonance and impedance analysis.
  • Experience with ANSYS Electronics Desktop and LT Spice.
  • At least 2 years of experience in electromagnetic modeling and simulation.

Nice To Haves

  • Proficiency in the physics of electromagnetic waves and fields.
  • Experience with multi-dimensional physics simulation.
  • Experience with de-embedding techniques.
  • Experience with COMSOL Multiphysics, Abaqus, Keysight ADS, Python, MATLAB, and JMP.

Responsibilities

  • Assist and guide the Characterization Team on best practices for test methods, hardware design, calibration, port extension, and de-embedding techniques.
  • Develop electromagnetic models for capacitors and inductors, including capacitance, inductance, saturation, ESR, ESL, impedance, resonance behavior, S-parameters, and associated SPICE models.
  • Model power delivery network performance.
  • Develop equivalent circuit models for embedded passive devices and package structures.
  • Support signal integrity and power integrity analysis.
  • Integrate discrete models into system-level simulations for PCB/package power delivery network architectures.
  • Perform 2.5D and 3D electromagnetic modeling.
  • Collaborate with and support customer engagement teams on custom customer architecture electromagnetic modeling needs.
  • Identify and collaborate with external simulation and characterization resources supporting Saras' characterization and simulation efforts.
  • Generate simulation methodologies, best practices, and standards.
  • Support technology down-selection and design decisions, and provide simulation-driven recommendations to engineering teams.
  • Participate in DFMEA and risk assessments.
  • Support customer design reviews and qualification activities.
