About The Position

Quality Staffing, Inc., also doing business as Goddard Mason Executive Search, a leading full-service employment agency matching qualified talent with some of the area's top companies, is looking for an experienced ELR Programmer Analyst to work through our agency as a contract employee with the Tennessee Department of Health (TN DOH) located in Nashville, TN. This is a remote position working from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday through Friday for a total of 37.5 hours. The pay rate for this position is $43.00 per hour. The Tennessee Department of Health is seeking an ELR Programmer Analyst to assist in the coordination of communicable disease informatics related to projects as a part of the Surveillance Systems and Informatics (SSI) Program within the Communicable and Environmental Disease and Emergency Preparedness (CEDEP) Division. This position will serve as an ELR Specialist for the SSI Program and will support REDCap (Research Electronic Data Capture), Electronic Lab Reporting (ELR), and other SSI informatics projects and initiatives. As a member of the SSI Program, the individual selected for the position will get exposure and experience in the use and informatics projects including system integration. CANDIDATES MUST BE LOCAL TO THE NASHVILLE AREA!!

Requirements

  • 1 to 3 years of work experience with ELR onboarding and/or maintenance at a state or local health department.
  • 1 to 3 years of work experience with Rhapsody or working to define specifications for Rhapsody developers.
  • Experience writing statistical and analytical programming code in SAS, SQL, or R.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage projects.

Responsibilities

  • Completing ELR onboarding using HL7 2.4.1 standards.
  • Providing input on and managing various production monitoring tasks including alerts, dashboard development and maintenance, and issue identification.
  • Completing investigation of ELR processing issues independently and identifying proposed solutions.
  • Working collaboratively with Rhapsody developers to enhance existing routes or define new routes for ELR processing.
  • Assisting with processing of laboratory data submitted via our alternate file format (i.e. flat file).
  • Coordinating routine and ad hoc management of standard interoperability vocabulary within the disease surveillance system.
  • Acting as liaison to downstream users of ELR data within TDH and CEDEP.
  • Supporting other ELR maintenance tasks (e.g., parallel validation, LOINC code assignments, and production errors).
