About The Position

Community Youth Ministries (CYM) of Reedley, CA is looking to hire a part-time ELP Paraeducator. CYM is a 501(c)(3) that partners with local organizations, schools, and churches to empower and strengthen youth through various programs including after school programming. They serve youth in multiple cities throughout California's San Joaquin Valley and currently run 17 after-school programs in the Kings Canyon Unified School District. CYM is passionate about youth and upholds a culture of integrity, kindness, and responsibility. Requirements

Paraeducator certificate OR 48 college units already completed.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Punctual and reliable.
Ability to resolve conflicts in a positive and restorative manner.
Team player.
Positive attitude and knack for managing groups of children.
Organized and able to prioritize tasks effectively.
Fingerprint clearances from DOJ & FBI.

Responsibilities

Facilitate the physical, social, and emotional growth of students through after-school programming.
Provide age-appropriate enrichment activities in a wide array of subjects.
Build positive relationships with and between students.
Ensure a safe environment during after-school hours.
Plan activities and prepare equipment before students arrive.
Keep the passion for learning alive through fun and engaging activities.
Encourage students and praise their individual abilities.
Provide consistent supervision at all times.
Employ effective group management techniques.
Use appropriate positive discipline.
Act as a professional role model and set a good example.
Ignite the light within each student by providing them with opportunities to reach their full potential.
