About The Position

Northwest Human Services is a non-profit leader in providing advocacy, quality healthcare and social services in Marion and Polk counties since 1970. As an Eligibility, Enrollment, and Outreach Specialist, you’ll help remove barriers to healthcare both inside our clinics and out in the community. A key part of this role is working aboard our Mobile Healthcare Unit and traveling to rural communities to bring healthcare navigation, insurance enrollment assistance, and community resources directly to people where they live and work. You’ll help patients, clients, and community members understand their health insurance options, apply for and maintain OHP coverage, access sliding fee discounts, and connect with resources that support their overall well-being. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Fluency in English and Spanish
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Valid Oregon driver's license and proof of automobile insurance.

Responsibilities

  • Understand their health insurance and benefit options.
  • Apply for and maintain OHP coverage.
  • Navigate OHP enrollment, renewals, recertification, and changes.
  • Access sliding fee discounts when they are uninsured or underinsured.
  • Connect with medical, behavioral health, dental, and community resources.
  • Identify resources that address barriers such as housing, transportation, food, and other social needs.
  • Stay connected to healthcare by helping prevent gaps in coverage.
