This is an hourly position where the employee will assist with the receiving, processing, and shipping of dry edible beans. Responsibilities include dumping trucks and taking samples during harvest, loading finished product into rail cars, bulk trucks, totes, or bags during processing, and inspecting samples. Daily housekeeping duties are also required. The role involves ensuring the process runs smoothly by managing product flow, analyzing sample results to maintain quality, troubleshooting equipment malfunctions, and reporting issues to the plant manager. Safety is paramount, requiring compliance with all plant safety policies and the use of personal protective equipment. Effective communication and teamwork are essential for coordinating the production process and operating the process and loading finished product. The role also includes performing Lock-Out/Tag-Out procedures, adhering to all safety and process requirements, identifying sources of trouble through various sensory techniques, controlling product flow to the final destination, and maintaining awareness of and adherence to all relevant FDA, GMP, BATF, EPA, OSHA, and employer standards and guidelines. The employee is expected to suggest improvements, attend departmental meetings, perform light maintenance on machinery, and immediately report any hazards, unsafe equipment, accidents, injuries, or near misses. Participation in training and reporting to work in a condition to perform all duties are also expected, along with practicing proper personal hygiene and understanding workplace hazards and safety responsibilities.
