About The Position

The Elevator Operator III operates the grain elevator, loading, unloading, and transferring grain and grain products efficiently, safely, and sanitarily. The position also assists with or leads other aspects of grain handling, storage, facility and equipment maintenance, and elevator operations. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., with an hourly pay rate of $18.55–$24.10.

Requirements

• 2–4 years of experience.
• Skills in maintenance, equipment operations, safety programs, and grain operations.
• Basic written and verbal communication skills.

Nice To Haves

• Agricultural experience.
• Welding and light fabrication experience.
• High school diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Assist with loading, unloading, and transferring grain and grain products for trucks, barges, and rail, as applicable to the location.
• Inspect barges, trucks, and railcars before loading.
• Routinely operate and monitor advanced grain-handling equipment, including grain dryers, grain control rooms, bin sweeps, and locomotives.
• Perform grain receiving, weighing, and grading.
• Perform repairs for more complex maintenance issues, including fabrication and repairs.
• Accurately record all applicable documentation.
• Work in a highly quality-controlled environment.
• Perform housekeeping and cleaning duties.
