About The Position

Garaventa Lift, a division of Savaria, is a large accessibility and mobility company operating across the US and Canada. Savaria is a global leader in accessibility and patient care products. The Elevator Mechanic is responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining elevators in commercial and residential buildings. They will also inspect elevator systems, identify issues, and troubleshoot and resolve mechanical and electrical problems. This position requires a license in MA, NH, CT, ME, or VT.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience installing residential elevators, wheelchair lifts and LULA elevators
  • Knowledge of ASME A17.1 and A18.1
  • Ability to read and understand installation blueprints and drawings including all electrical and electronic schematics and knowledge with a focus on industrial mechanics
  • Certified Elevator Mechanic License in at least one of the following states: MA, NH, CT, ME OR VT
  • Basic skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Ability to lift heavy loads
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record

Responsibilities

  • Ensure all installation work is completed per job requirements
  • Ensure all safety procedures are followed during installation
  • Read and interpret schematics and blueprints
  • Provide excellent customer service while on-site
  • Conduct field service visits to ensure elevator functionality
  • Perform regular maintenance tasks to keep elevators in optimal condition
  • Ensures jobsite is neat and clean
  • Works with inspectors to ensure work passes all required inspections
  • Supervise apprentices as required
