About The Position

Novastar Prep is seeking engaging, patient, and energetic part-time tutors for an in-home elementary tutoring assignment in Vienna, VA. This opportunity involves providing personalized 1:1 support to a bright and motivated 2nd grade student working on writing development, storytelling, and multiplication fluency through hands-on, visual, and interactive learning approaches. We’re looking for tutors who can create a warm, encouraging environment while making learning fun and engaging for a younger student who may need time to come out of his shell. In-person opportunities are available in Vienna, Great Falls, McLean, Oakton, Reston, Falls Church, Herndon, and surrounding Northern Virginia areas.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree or higher in a relevant field.
• 1 year+ in tutoring or teaching experience.
• Clear and effective communication skills, able to connect with students of various learning styles.
• Reliable transportation for travel to in-person sessions.
• Basic computer literacy.
• Ability to pass a background check.
• Willingness to commit to at least one semester.
