About The Position

Sam Houston Elementary School is seeking an Elementary Education Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. This is a full-time position with benefits.

Requirements

• K - 6 Tennessee Department of Education certification with proof of highly qualified status and related work experience
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team
• Desire to build positive relationships with students and their families
• Possesses honesty, integrity, professionalism

Responsibilities

• Complete understanding of K-3 Tennessee Curriculum
• Comfortable in using data resources such as iReady, Aims Web, STAR Reading, etc. and the ability to share results to appropriate stakeholders
• Approach to using both formative and summative assessment data to drive instruction
• Possess confidence in integrating technology into instruction and as a means of effective two-way communication with all stakeholders
• Understanding of student learning styles, age-appropriate instructional strategies, and educational best practices
• Work with students to develop life skills that will help them overcome academic, social, and behavioral concerns
• Desire to organize, participate and attend after-school and evening programming such as performances, parent meetings, curriculum nights, open houses, and other school-wide activities
