About The Position

Responsible for instruction of the elementary curriculum. This includes creating a positive learning environment, developing long and short-range plans, implementing plans effectively, formative and summative assessment of student progress, and a number of administrative duties such as attendance, parent communication, etc.

Requirements

Valid NYS certification in Elementary (K-6 required)
Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Common Core Standards
Demonstrated knowledge of curriculum and curriculum development including planning, implementation and evaluation of materials, supplies and lessons.
Demonstrated knowledge of effective classroom management skills.
Demonstrated ability to work with students of all ability levels, differentiate instruction and use a variety of teaching techniques (co-teaching)
Demonstrated evidence of the ability to reflect and contemplate on one's teaching allowing for growth and excellence.
Demonstrated evidence to use data and assessment tools to identify needs, assess student progress and performance, plan instruction to improve performance and achievement of all learners.
Demonstrated evidence of optimism, enthusiasm, compassion, warmth, understanding and sensitivity to all students.
Demonstrated evidence to maintain high levels of student engagement.
Demonstrated evidence of effective communication with students, teachers, parents, and administrators.
Demonstrated evidence of effective interpersonal skills with students, faculty, support staff, and parents.
