About The Position

BASIS Phoenix North is seeking an Elementary Learning Expert Teacher for a first-grade classroom, with an immediate start. In BASIS’s co-teaching model, Learning Expert Teachers (LETs) work alongside Subject Expert Teachers (SETs), who provide the main instruction for each class. LETs use their elementary education expertise to address students’ differentiated needs, support individual learning outcomes, and help cultivate a joyful classroom culture that celebrates hard work and intellectual pursuits. Elementary classrooms are co-taught by two teachers, who work with students throughout the day.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree.
• Valid Identity Verified Prints (IVP) Fingerprint Clearance Card.
• Demonstrated passion for student achievement and directed effort to raise individual student outcomes.

• Experience as an elementary educator.

Responsibilities

• Be responsible for one cohort of students and lead them through classroom transitions during the day.
• Collaborate with the Subject Expert Teacher for each class period.
• Use elementary education teaching methods to provide individualized or small-group instruction that meets students’ differentiated needs.
• Establish and maintain standards of student behavior needed to achieve a functional learning atmosphere in the classroom.
