About The Position

American Paradigm Schools seeks an Elementary Teacher to create curriculum resources and align curriculum with the PSSA Assessment Anchors. The teacher works with a grade-level team to coordinate schoolwide efforts that support the school’s goals and serve its scholars. The role is based at FPPCS, is full-time, and has a 10-month employment duration. It reports to the Principal. Teachers are expected to champion the Caring School Community Program. The model emphasizes relationships, positive classroom and schoolwide communities, students’ social and emotional learning, and a warm, safe, and disciplined environment where community members can interact constructively.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree required.
Pennsylvania certification required.
Knowledge and skills in customer and personal service, education and training, computers and electronics, instruction, psychology, mathematics, public safety and security, sociology and anthropology, social perceptiveness, monitoring, complex problem solving, judgment and decision making, systems analysis, and evaluation.
Technology skills with Google Suite for Education, a student information system, student intervention programs, a document camera, projector, laptop, and copier.

Responsibilities

Develop a scope and sequence aligned with the PSSA Assessment Anchors.
Create weekly lesson plans aligned with state standards and the current curriculum, in coordination with APS.
Grade student work and provide timely feedback.
Communicate with the team about schoolwide and grade-level expectations.
Communicate with families about their child's progress.
Coordinate with the ESL teacher.
Coordinate with the special education teacher.
Build and maintain positive relationships with students.
Attend after-school events as needed.
Ensure students’ safety and well-being.
Champion the Caring School Community Program.
