About The Position

BASIS Cedar Park is seeking a 2nd Grade Elementary Teacher for an immediate start. As a BASIS Ed Elementary Learning Expert Teacher (LET), you use your expertise in learning to address students’ differentiated needs and focus on individual student results. Subject Expert Teachers (SETs) handle the main instruction, allowing you to focus on supporting students rather than preparing multiple lessons each day.

In the co-teaching model, K–3 (or K–4, depending on campus) classrooms are staffed by two elementary teachers who work with students. LETs foster a joyful learning culture, customize education to individual student needs, and use pedagogical expertise to support student achievement. The role is responsible for one student cohort and includes collaboration with SETs, individualized or small-group instruction, and maintaining classroom behavior standards.

Requirements

• A bachelor's or master's degree.
• Valid Identity Verified Prints (IVP) Fingerprint Clearance Card.
• Demonstrated passion for student achievement and directed effort to raise individual student outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Be responsible for one cohort of students and lead them through classroom transitions during the day.
• Collaborate with the Subject Expert Teacher (SET) for each class period.
• Use expertise in elementary education teaching methods to provide individualized or small-group instruction that meets students’ differentiated needs.
• Establish and maintain student behavior standards needed to achieve a functional classroom learning atmosphere.
