About The Position

Cole Valley Christian Schools is seeking God’s wisdom as we search for a Christ following, dynamic, and gifted individual to join our incredible staff. The Elementary SAS Manager serves as the operational leader of the SAS program. This position coordinates student support, Student Success Plans (SSPs), intervention placement, communication, and documentation. The manager ensures the daily procedures of the SAS function effectively and consistently while supporting teachers, families, and SAS staff.

  • Bachelor’s degree with special education endorsement or bachelor’s degree with Orton Gillingham Therapy Certification required.
  • State teaching certificate and/or Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI) teaching certificate, or ability to obtain.
  • Profess a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and have made Him both Savior and Lord as represented in Scripture (John 14:1-27; Ephesians 2:8-22) and accepts without reservation the Statement of Faith of Cole Valley Christian Schools.
  • Have a history of faithfully attending and financially supporting a Bible believing church.
  • Have a verifiable history of living and modeling Christian character in employee's personal and professional life, serving as a Christian role model first to family and friends and then to students, parents, and fellow faculty and staff members in regard to personal judgment, dignity, and Christian living. This is expressed in such passages as Ephesians 5:21-23; Colossians 3:12-17; and 2 Peter 1:1-10. Individual's life in Christ must continue to be faithfully pursued in and out of the workplace as a condition of continuing in this ministry position.
  • Willing to submit to the authority of those who have oversight of the school (1 Peter 2, 9-20), and to fully cooperate with these authorities and adhere to the policies adopted by the School Board in both letter and intent.
  • Strive at all times to understand, appreciate, love, and nurture the students entrusted to employee for instruction, supervision, and/or oversight, and must provide for their fullest spiritual, intellectual, physical, and emotional development.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in special education preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in special education preferred.
  • Formal National Institute for Learning Development (NILD) Training is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate campus SAS procedures and services.
  • Manage referrals, placement recommendations, and intervention coordination.
  • Monitor student progress and movement between support levels.
  • Support transitions between grade levels.
  • Develop, maintain, and monitor SSPs.
  • Collaborate with teachers and interventionists to establish student goals, schedules and accommodations for SSP.
  • Coordinate annual student reviews and updates to SSPs.
  • Ensure accommodation and interventions are implemented consistently across campus.
  • Lead routine parent meetings regarding student support and intervention.
  • Maintain communication between families, interventionists, school staff and administration to ensure everyone is informed and connected.
  • Partner with principal and/or vice principal to manage escalated situations.
  • Maintain student records for SAS services, meetings, and interventions.
  • Monitor progress data and goal tracking.
  • Coordinate billing and service documentation.
  • Facilitate SAS collaboration meetings.
  • Work directly with assigned student caseload.
  • Review testing as provided by outside source.
