About The Position
Our team is partnering with a Michigan school district to hire a full-time Elementary Special Education Teacher for the 2026–2027 school year. This position offers an opportunity to provide specialized instruction and individualized support to elementary students with diverse learning needs. Working as part of a collaborative school team, you’ll adapt curriculum, implement student-centered strategies, monitor progress, and support IEP goals. You’ll also work closely with educators, specialists, and families to promote an inclusive classroom environment and help students build the skills they need to succeed.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Special Education or a related field.
- Valid Michigan teaching certification with a Special Education endorsement (or eligibility to obtain).
Nice To Haves
- Experience working in resource, inclusion, or self-contained settings preferred.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement IEPs aligned with individualized goals.
- Support students’ academic, behavioral, and social development.
- Collect and analyze student data to measure growth and guide instruction.
- Help maintain consistent, inclusive practices across learning environments.
- Adjust curriculum, activities, and teaching approaches to improve accessibility.
- Provide individualized, small-group, and targeted instruction based on student needs.
- Work collaboratively with general education teachers, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
