About The Position

Branford Public Schools is seeking an Itinerant Elementary Special Education Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year, focusing on Resource Instruction and Co-teaching. This position will serve students at Mary R Tisko and John B. Sliney Elementary Schools. The role involves delivering targeted instruction, providing in-class support through co-teaching, managing a caseload of students with IEPs, implementing accommodations, and collaborating with families and other professionals.

Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement individualized lesson plans within the resource room to address specific IEP goals, focusing on intensive remediation in core academic areas.
  • Collaborate with general education teachers to co-teach, adapt curriculum, and provide real-time accommodations, ensuring students fully access the core curriculum within their least restrictive environment.
  • Serve as the primary case manager for a designated roster of students, including tracking progress, writing comprehensive IEPs, and facilitating annual review meetings.
  • Modify assignments, assessments, and classroom environments to match diverse learning profiles, utilizing assistive technology and specialized instructional strategies.
  • Maintain proactive, ongoing communication with families, general education teachers, and related service providers to ensure unified support for student success.

Benefits

  • Salary per Branford Education Association Contract: $56,974 - $113,513 pending degree level
