About The Position

The Reynoldsburg City Schools’ Elementary Teacher is responsible for fostering a nurturing, safe, and inclusive environment where foundational academic and social-emotional skills are developed. This role focuses on "Science of Reading" implementation, explicit Tier 1 and Tier 2 instruction, and the management of whole-child development through PBIS and community building. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education or related field.
  • Valid Ohio Teaching License (P-5 or K-8).
  • Proper endorsements for subject area (e.g., Reading, TESOL) as required by the State of Ohio.
  • Knowledge of foundational literacy acquisition, child development (ages 5-11), and state/federal education laws (FERPA).
  • Skilled in data analysis, instructional technology, and differentiation.
  • Ability to differentiate instruction for English Learners (EL) and students with IEP/504 plans.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with families via TalkingPoints or newsletters.
  • The employee is required to sit or stand and move around for extended periods of time to maintain high visibility in hallways and common areas.
  • While performing the duties of this job the employee must be able to push, pull, lift and carry over 25 pounds on occasion.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s Degree in Education or Curriculum and Instruction.
  • Experience with "Science of Reading" frameworks and OELPS/OELPA evaluations.
  • Proven experience in managing classroom behaviors using trauma-informed techniques.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver explicit Tier 1 instruction in ELA (Phonics, Fluency, Comprehension) and Math aligned with Ohio Learning Standards.
  • Facilitate small-group interventions (Tier 2) to reteach target skills and provide enrichment for high-achieving students.
  • Integrate Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) through daily community meetings and the RISE (Respect, Integrity, Self-control, Engagement) framework.
  • Administer and analyze benchmark assessments (KRA, MAP, Acadience) to guide daily instruction.
  • Maintain Reading Improvement and Monitoring Plans (RIMPs) and track progress for students not meeting grade-level benchmarks.
  • Provide meaningful, personalized feedback on student work and maintain accurate records in PowerSchool.
  • Establish and maintain a PBIS-centered classroom environment that promotes safety and resilience.
  • Monitor students during non-instructional times, including lunch, recess, and arrival/dismissal (car rider/bus duty).
  • Ensure a clean and organized learning space conducive to physical and emotional safety.
