Elementary School Teacher (Grade 1) (Leave Replacemnet)
About The Position
Livingston Public Schools is seeking a full-time, leave-replacement Elementary Classroom Teacher for Grade 1 at Hillside Elementary School, from November 16, 2026 through June 22, 2027. The teacher will provide high-quality instruction across Reading, Writing, Math, Science, and Social Studies, creating engaging learning experiences that promote academic achievement, critical thinking, creativity, and a love of learning. The role includes fostering a positive, inclusive classroom environment and supporting students’ academic, social-emotional, and behavioral growth. The teacher will use evidence-based instructional practices and data to inform instruction, meet the needs of diverse learners, and collaborate with colleagues, families, and support staff to ensure student success. Salary is determined under the Livingston Education Association Agreement; leave replacements are compensated at Step 1 of the appropriate grade (BA, MA, or 2MA).
Requirements
- Hold or be eligible for the appropriate New Jersey Elementary School Teacher certification at the time of application.
- Demonstrate expertise in literacy and mathematics instruction.
- Provide engaging, standards-aligned instruction in science and social studies.
- Use evidence-based instructional practices and data to inform instruction.
- Support the academic, social-emotional, and behavioral growth of elementary learners.
- Commitment to meeting the needs of diverse learners.
Nice To Haves
- Experience teaching elementary-aged students is preferred.
