About The Position
This position is responsible for developing and delivering engaging instructional lessons while creating and refining elementary school curriculum aligned with educational standards. The teacher fosters a positive and inclusive classroom environment that supports students’ academic, social, and emotional growth.
Requirements
- Knowledge of elementary curriculum, including differentiated instruction.
- Knowledge of curriculum design, lesson planning, and pedagogy.
- Must meet the current RI Department of Education requirements and or certifications.
- Bachelor degree required.
Nice To Haves
- Experience preferred.
- Experience in innovative, problem based instruction preferred.
Responsibilities
- Plans and implements problem based learning units.
- Possesses knowledge and skills in differentiating learning processes, content, and assessments.
- Motivates learners.
- Collaborates and participates in development of programs that support the learning needs of all students.
- Demonstrates commitment to establishing/maintaining frequent communication with parents/guardians.
- Interest in and knowledge of history, geography, civics and government.
- Ability to adapt to the various ages within an elementary school setting.
- Proficient in technological applications and presentation.
- Possesses the ability to establish community partnerships that will support student learning.
- Adheres to the requirements and standards of the Rhode Island Department of Education Educator Evaluation process.
- Performs related work as assigned.
