About The Position

Join our school nutrition team as an Elementary School Cook and help provide healthy, delicious meals to our students every day. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys cooking, working with children, and being part of a supportive school community. We follow a 10-month school calendar, offering a family-friendly schedule with summers off.

Requirements

Ability to stand for extended periods, lift kitchen supplies, and perform the physical duties of the position.

Nice To Haves

Previous cooking experience in a restaurant, cafeteria, school, healthcare or other commercial kitchen preferred.
Experience with inventory and recordkeeping is a plus.
POS system experience preferred, or the ability to learn.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

Prepare and cook breakfast and lunch for elementary school students.
Deliver breakfast and lunch to Pre-K classrooms.
Serve meals in a friendly and efficient manner.
Complete daily production records accurately.
Count and monitor food and supply inventory.
Operate a Point of Sale (POS) system or learn to use one.
Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen.
Wash dishes and assist with daily kitchen cleaning.
Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines.
Work collaboratively with the school nutrition team to ensure excellent meal service.
