About The Position

The Elementary Principal will provide strong instructional leadership, foster a positive school culture, and ensure a safe and supportive learning environment for all students and staff. The principal will be responsible for implementing effective instructional practices, supporting teachers through professional development, and maintaining high expectations for academic achievement and student behavior. Additionally, the principal will serve as a collaborative leader, working with staff, parents, and the community to create a shared vision for student success. They will ensure compliance with district policies, state and federal regulations, and actively support initiatives that align with the goals of Carlisle School District.

Requirements

  • Arkansas Building-Level Administrator License (or ability to obtain one).
  • Teacher experience required (preferably at the elementary level).
  • Strong Knowledge of Curriculum & Instruction aligned with Arkansas state standards.
  • Wit and Wisdom, Phonics First, 95% Group, Eureka, RTI Strategies
  • Understanding of the LEARNS Act and its implications for elementary education.
  • Experience with Data-Driven Decision Making to improve student achievement.
  • Strong Communication Skills for working with teachers, staff, students, parents, and the community.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with District and other Building Level Administration.

Nice To Haves

  • Administration experience preferred but not required (assistant principal, instructional coach, or equivalent preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Provide visionary leadership to promote academic excellence and student success.
  • Ensure effective implementation of curriculum aligned with Arkansas State Standards.
  • Use data-driven decision-making to improve student learning and instructional practices.
  • Lead and support professional development for teachers and staff.
  • Monitor lesson planning and classroom instruction to ensure high-quality teaching.
  • Implement and oversee RTI (Response to Intervention) and other academic support programs.
  • Foster a positive, respectful, and inclusive school culture for students, staff, and families.
  • Promote high expectations for student behavior and achievement.
  • Encourage collaboration, teamwork, and shared leadership among staff.
  • Ensure fair and consistent enforcement of student discipline policies.
  • Work with teachers, counselors, and families to support student needs.
  • Address student attendance issues and implement strategies for improvement.
  • Ensure all students receive appropriate special education and intervention services.
  • Recruit, hire, evaluate, and retain high-quality teachers and staff.
  • Conduct formal and informal teacher evaluations to improve instructional effectiveness.
  • Provide coaching, mentoring, and feedback to teachers for professional growth.
  • Build leadership capacity among staff by delegating responsibilities effectively.
  • Oversee daily school operations to ensure a safe and efficient learning environment.
  • Maintain compliance with district policies, state laws, and federal regulations.
  • Ensure proper use of federal and state funding, including Title I programs.
  • Collaborate with district leadership on budget planning and resource allocation.
  • Oversee school safety protocols, emergency procedures, and crisis management.
  • Build strong relationships with parents, guardians, and community members.
  • Communicate regularly with families through newsletters, meetings, and events.
  • Partner with local businesses, organizations, and stakeholders to support school initiatives.
  • Act as a visible and approachable leader at school and community events.
