About The Position
The PE Teacher will provide physical education instruction to elementary students, focusing on physical fitness, health, movement, sports, coordination, teamwork, and positive social and emotional development.
Requirements
- Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL)
- Physical Education endorsement
- Elementary PE certification is specifically required
Responsibilities
- Teach physical education, fitness, health, rhythms/dance, and individual/team sports.
- Adapt instruction for individual students and small groups.
- Demonstrate sports skills, movement strategies, and physical activities.
- Maintain a safe and orderly learning environment.
- Monitor student progress and physical skill development.
- Communicate with parents, counselors, and other school staff.
- Maintain PE equipment, inventory, and safety standards.
- Participate in curriculum development, faculty committees, school activities, and events.
