About The Position
Empowerment Academy Charter School is hiring a PE/Health Teacher for the 2026-2027 School Year and beyond at our Elementary School! Empowerment Academy is a dynamic and successful charter school that truly supports its teachers and staff. We serve a mix of students that are among the most diverse in America while enjoying the cultural vibrance of Jersey City, Hoboken and New York City. Our staff is a dedicated group of individuals passionate about closing the achievement gap and providing a quality educational program.
Requirements
- Teacher certification is required for this role.
- Candidate must hold a CE, CEAS, Limited CE, or Standard Certificate in “PE/Health” issued by the NJDOE.
- Certification by the NJ DOE or certification is actively pending.
Responsibilities
- Teach Physical Education and Health to elementary school students.
- Plan lessons and solve problems with peers in professional learning communities (PLCs).
- Partner with an array of specialists to meet scholars’ diverse needs.
