About The Position
This position assists a certified teacher in the preparation and management of classroom activities and administrative requirements. The Elementary PE Aide works under the supervision of a certified teacher and is responsible for supporting instructional activities, student management, and other assigned duties to ensure a smooth and effective learning environment.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid Texas educational aide certificate
- Meets NCLB Highly Qualified Standards
- Ability to work well with children
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to implement policies and procedures
- Some experience working with children
Responsibilities
- Assist teacher in preparing instructional materials and classroom displays.
- Assist with administration and scoring of objective testing instruments or work assignments.
- Help maintain a neat and orderly classroom.
- Help with inventory, care, and maintenance of equipment.
- Help teacher keep administrative records and prepare required reports.
- Provide orientation and assistance to substitute teachers.
- Conduct instructional exercises assigned by the teacher; work with individual students or small groups.
- Help supervise students throughout the school day, inside and outside the classroom, including lunchroom, bus, and playground duty.
- Keep teacher informed of special needs or problems of individual students.
- Participate in staff development training programs to improve job performance.
- Participate in faculty meetings and special events as assigned.
- Comply with all district and campus routines and regulations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
